Ile d'Aix, a haven of peace to uncover
During your camping break, use La Rochelle, Rochefort or Fouras as your start point to visit Ile d'Aix and soak up its incredible views of Fort Boyard. Explore unspoilt and untamed nature and incredible heritage as it's here that Napoleon spent his last three days on French land before his exile. If you're a history buff then be sure to visit the Napoleon Museum on Ile d'Aix.
Radiant Ile d'Oléron for sun-soaked holidays
When it comes to nature, Ile d'Oléron has beautiful beaches where you can relax on your towel or do some water sports as well as forests and marshes where you can stroll and soak up the myriad flora and fauna. Halfway between La Rochelle and Royan, Ile Madame can only be accessed at low tide and covers just 1km. You can visit by car but on-site it's all about cycling and walking to help protect this untamed little land during your day away from it all.
